And Just Like That...
Early yesterday morning I woke up to a post made by orginal Sex & The City star, Sarah Jessica Parker teasing the latest installment. I have loved the series “Sex & The City” that I often quote lines from the show verbatim with friends. I grew up with Sex & the City, we all felt for Aidan when Carrie cheated on him, we learnt so much about dating sex and all things New York CIty, through the hit television show - and it was an era.
HBO Max has ordered an Original 10 part half an hour series, “And Just Like That…” is scheduled to start filming in New York City , late spring. Michael Patrick King serves as the excellent executive producer of the show. I had someone ask me; “What will it be like without Samantha?” As Parker, did not tag her in the clip. Well, I feel that we live in a different time where we celebrate diversity - four cis gender skinny white women in a TV show doesn’t really make sense on any streaming platform. Samantha’s character is an icon - they should not get a replacement, not even Sharon Stone. Leave it alone. The press release reads that the story continues with the ladies in their 50s. This show also aired in the 90s HBO and was groundbreaking at the time, but we live in 2021 so I’m not sure if the narrative will fly.
