Google For South Africa Week

Google has revolunatised the way the world lives and now, its happening right here in Mzansi. Last week, was the first ever Google for South Africa events. Monday night kicked off with a preview dinner of what was to come on the big day, being Thursday. In the room were several YouTubers and influencers (I’ve added their YouTube Channels below). We were spoilt with great food and great company and all captured by famed photographer Austin Malema, above. I also did curate the picture below, with all your favourite YouTubers.

We also got a sneak peak into Google Cameos. Basically if you ever want to ask a celebrity a question, you type it into the search engine and then you get a short video of the celebrity answering the question.

Thursday was the main event, held at The Galleria in Sandton. Whoa! What was the most amazing thing was that Google is putting money where their mouth is. For me, I think the biggest thing was the installations of Google Stations, which is fast, free WiFi in disadvantaged communities. Do you realise how major that is?
