Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy

Seen as though we have all been in quarantine, celebrities included, many of us have given you online content. One of these people is Stanley Tucci - but you’ll know him as the gay one in The Devil Wears Prada or the MC of The Hunger Games. Well, that’s about to change because he’s about to be a household name if he isn’t already. You need to watch the Instagram video he posted, making a simple Negroni. He brings romance and a certain je ne sais quoi to the art of cocktail making. The martini video is great too.

This sparked the big wigs at CNN, that they have produced a show with him as the host; Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy. The six-part CNN Original explores Tucci’s love affair with Italy. The release reads:

Viewers will go along with him as he enjoys the luxurious creamy carbonara of Rome, the delicious simplicity of Sicily’s pasta alla Norma, the saffron-infused silkiness of risotto in Milan, the crispy tenderness of bistecca alla fiorentina, the perfect classic ragu alla bolognese and the world’s best pizza in Naples. Tucci comes prepared with a bottomless appetite for it all, showing us how the diversity of Italian cooking offers a gateway through which you can glimpse Italy’s history and culture.

Now, doesn’t that make you want to get on a plane, jet off to Italy, find a hot lover, and live out your Call Me By Your Name/The Talented Mr. Ripley (depending on your preference) fantasy? Tucci has charm and charisma that is unprecedented, so it’s a no brainer that CNN picks him as our tour guide. I am looking forward to this one, even if we are stuck at home and cant travel…yet.

Searching for Italy will stream live for subscribers the day of its premiere via CNNgo (at CNN.com/go and via CNNgo apps for Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, Samsung Smart TV and Android TV) and on the CNN mobile apps for iOS and Android. Ahead of the broadcast premiere, starting on Friday, Feb. 5 the ‘Tuscany’ episode of Searching for Italy will be available on demand to subscribers via cable/satellite systems, CNNgo platforms and CNN mobile apps. Episodes of both series will be available the day after their broadcast premiere on demand via cable/satellite systems, CNNgo platform and CNN mobile apps.
